Another Think I'd Love to Say

Dear Ex-Boyfriend,
I cannot believe you. I can't believe what you've done. After making a promise to me that means a lot, I can't believe you've gone and broke it. You are a disgusting excuse for a human being. You are an utter disappointment. If I had known my sweet boyfriend would turn into such a horrible monster, I would've stayed the fuck away. You are the reason men have a bad name. In due time, you will be blocked from my memory. From now on, I will not speak of our relationship and will not acknowledge its former existence. You are dead to me. You have betrayed me, something that I will not forgive you for. You do not respect me, you do not respect women, and you do not respect yourself. There is no reason for you to be alive except to anticipate your demise. Numb yourself with drugs and alcohol, and I promise that demise will come soon.
In hatred,
Lys

Something I Need to Get Out

Dear Friend with Benefits,
So I've become victim to my stupid girl hormones and have fallen for you again. I apologize for this. I'd really like to know if you feel the same way, but in real world terms, it really doesn't matter.
If you don't, that's completely okay. I hope we can continue with FWB and not be awkward. What I really wanted was an end to this uncertainty. I'll get over it eventually.
If you do, I'd be very happy for the time being. I know I'm going to transfer next year, so I wouldn't want to get too emotionally involved, which defeats the purpose of getting into the relationship in the first place. I just don't know. I want you quite badly, but I also don't want to hurt you or myself.
I'm really at a crossroads here, and I don't want to screw anything up. If you have any response for me, I really would like/need to hear it.
I know I've been a poor girlfriend in the past. It's a combination of inexperience and some turbulent personal issues that I've been going through. I take the blame for the failure of our relationship and apologize again.
In shame,
Lys

About Me

Since this is my blog and I don't get to be selfish that often, I'm going to talk about myself.
I am a 19 year old university student. I am studying biomedical engineering/pre med. I like rock and classical music. I also like swimming and running, although I haven't been able to do that recently. I got mono a couple of months ago and haven't built up endurance yet. I love watching hockey. My favorite TV shows are the Office and South Park. I'm not a big movie person, although I love Rocky Horror Picture Show. I tend to like "cult films."
My guilty pleasures are tea and lingerie. While most women go gaga over handbags and shoes, I find myself starry-eyed in the tea aisle or looking at push-up bras at Victoria's. Oh, and I do like push-up bras. I have 34A boobs, and I love them. They're so nice, they're streamlined for swimming and they don't bounce all over when I run. Guys talk to my face, not my chest. I can choose if I want cleavage or not. They won't sag! They're perfectly proportional to my small frame. I like my little girls. But enough about my spoiled tatas.
My favorite flavors of tea that I've found so far are Honey Lemon from Higgins and Burke (Canadian brand) and Wildberry Zinger from Celestial Seasonings.
I love cooking. I got started cooking because I've made my own meals regularly over the years. By some genetic fluke, I'm a vegetarian born into a carnivorous family. From the time I could eat solid food, I've had a distaste for meat. I've spat out meat baby food no matter what was mixed with it. I've been super picky about meat ever since and I've gone vegetarian completely this year. (The only thing stopping me before was buffalo wings. However I have discovered soy wings, which are delicious!)
The only makeup I really wear is eyeliner and mascara.
I never go out without looking somewhat put-together. You never know who you'll run into.
I think I'm friggin hot.
My skin is perfect. I've never had an acne "breakout." I've always had single pimples here and there. I've never had more than 3 on my face at a time.
I'm an atheist and libertarian. I am militantly pro-choice. I am childfree and refuse to date guys that want kids. Unfortunately I can't find that out right away. Darn. I really want to get sterilized ASAP. I'm on Jolessa (generic for Seasonale) and only get 4 periods a year. But I get a lot of spotting which is way annoying. Hopefully I can get an ablation too, then have no more periods.
That's me!

Let's Talk About Guys!

My goodness I feel bad for hardly using this new blog of mine.
But anyway, I'm going to talk about a fun subject tonight-Guys! I'm not entirely experienced, having only "been official" with three and randomly made out with two. But if any guy happens upon this blog, this could be valuable reading ;). Let's start with stupid mistakes boyfriends make.

1. "She's so hot..." I dated a guy with a celebrity-crush on Hayden Panatierre. She is 5'1" and blonde. I am 5'7" and brunette. He hardly commented on my looks (once he told me I look good in a thong but I don't think that counts) but he railed on about her. So you can imagine how that made me feel.

2. Giving gifts too early. I've never considered myself high-maintenance and don't get gifts a lot from guys. I don't really know the ground rules on this, but I do know one thing: I got a completely inappropriate gift from one of my exes. He had recently been in New Zealand and had brought me a gift back. Nice and all, but it was a Maori jade necklace. The carving symbolized togetherness and persistence in Maori culture. This was on the SECOND date!!!! I mean, this is something you would give to someone that you just got engaged to! We stayed together for 4 months, and I swear, two of those months were because of the meaning of the necklace. We broke up more than a month ago and I still have the necklace. I have no idea what to do with it. Although, they are kinda pricey (apparently he got it through bartering, so nothing to worry about right?) so I could sell it on eBay...if I was a total heartless whore...I'm still lost as to what to do with it!

3. Changing the Facebook status too soon. This is partially my mistake. I liked this guy. We would have heart-to-heart IM conversations (I know it's over IM, but it's pretty good as compared to most guys) and we had the same religious and political views. And he had been complaining to me that girls didn't find him attractive. I told him that I liked him. We hung out at his place that night and the next morning we were apparently boyfriend and girlfriend. He didn't actually ask me to be his girlfriend, though. I found this out by checking my Facebook and seeing that he had requested a relationship with me. I should've taken that as a hint. This leads into...

4. Going to fast. The same guy that I complained about in #1 and #3 also GRABBED MY TITS on the FIRST DATE. Given, our first date was cuddling and watching movies at his place, but still. Sex starved as he was, he did not need to be sticking his hand up my shirt. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had told him no, or rejected his Facebook relationship invite. Sure, he may have stuck to more conventional, respectful dating methods. Then again, I might still be a virgin today had I done that.

5. Making comments about what I eat. I am 5'7" and 125 lbs. Thin, yes, but I like me the way I am. I am vegetarian and intolerant to food coloring as well. I have had a lifetime distaste for meat. If you do not understand this, then you don't have much of an argument. And really, isn't it the first rule of dating that guys learn: don't talk about what a girl eats? I didn't think I was self-conscious about it, but I'm finding out that I am. Female vegetarians aren't exactly hot commodities, I am well aware. You can move on now.

6. Being proud of a lack of common sense. It's a well-known fact that at any given age, women will be more mature than men. So why be proud of being immature? It's so unattractive. I can't even believe I dated someone like this. (Two, actually)

7. Not trying. It's really not cool when I have to do all the asking out. I'm not the biggest fan of doing all the driving either, but if you're an idiot driver that's an exception. If we are dating, you do not have to be afraid of asking me to go on a date. Yes I want to spend time with you, I am your GIRLFRIEND. Why can't you just ask me out once in awhile? It's mixed messages to the extreme (this is the same guy that gave me the jade "togetherness" necklace)

8. Having a criminal record. Not cool. I'm so happy I broke up with him when I heard about that. He's a fuck-up and the only ex I can say I bonafide HATE, so yeah I have nothing nice to say here.

9. Wanting to be friends after breaking up then acting like an asshole. Same guy as 8. Would talk about me only to brag about drugs, guns, drinking and the like. This kid made me want to vomit. Eventually I will erase any memory that that relationship ever happened.

10. Wanting to be friends after breaking up then hightailing it without a word. Classy. But I didn't really want to talk to him anyway.

That's it for now. More later, I'm sure. Guys are just that clueless :)

The Girls on My Floor...

My current roommate lived on this floor last year, and it had some pretty cool girls on it. But of course that changes every year. This year, we have immature, irresponsible freshmen that are too jaded with freedom to recognize the responsibility that comes with it. And unfortunately for us, we live across the hall from the ringleader. She is one of the loudest, most obnoxious people you will meet. She is a compulsive liar and attention whore. She is, all around, an awful neighbor. A majority of my stories will probably be about her. There are also a few cool sophomores on the floor, who actually recognize that it's a good idea to study. But essentially, there are three groups of people on this floor. The mature sophomores, the ditzy freshmen, and freshmen who just plain don't hang out in their rooms much for whatever reason.

First Post, Yeah!

Some background information. I am a 19-year-old college sophomore. I live in a dorm hall on a girls floor with thin walls. This blog will document my trials and tribulations of dealing with dorm life. Last year, I lived in a suite-style dorm. It had two rooms with a bathroom between them. Now, I live in the more traditional type of dorm, with a communal bathroom. I have a roommate, we had a bunch of classes together last year. As cool as she is, I can never stop thinking about how nice it would be to live on my own! So begins my journey. I have a lot to document since it's the end of first semester.
